Why: HI professionals are data experts. They don’t engage in clinical care like surgeries or vaccinations, but they do support clinical teams with data-driven insights.

Why: If you love tech, data and problem-solving, and want to work in healthcare behind the scenes, HI might be a perfect fit. Physical labor or fieldwork isn’t typically involved. 

Friday’s topic: What credentials are key? 

Poll question: Which is an AHIMA certification? 

• CPR 

• RHIA

Why: RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) is a respected AHIMA credential for leaders in health information management. CPR is a life-saving skill certification, and CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) is a clinical credential — neither is specific to HI.
